Jonas is 5 months old now and he's getting so big! I know we're biased, but to us he is the most precious little boy we've ever laid eyes on. We fall more and more in love with him every day. It's hard not to have him here with us, but we're keeping busy getting ready for him. On Saturday we went to Babies-R-Us and registered for baby items. It took us about an hour to get through the first section of the store! Do you know how many different kinds of bottles there are?! And do we really need a bottle warmer? We decided no. And which is more important in a diaper bag, form or function? We went with function. Anyway, that's why it took us so long. I had fun though. I'm not sure how much fun Ray had, but he got a kick out of all the people who looked me up and down and tried to figure out why we were registering. :)
On Saturday we also finally cleared the last of the office things out of the room that will now be Jonas'. We also finally picked the paint color for the room. It's good we waited because we've changed our mind about the theme of the room. Originally we were going with a Winnie the Pooh theme, but we saw a bedding set at Babies-R-Us that we really like. It's kind of an African Safari theme with a lion, an elephant, a giraffe, and monkeys. The colors are rich browns and greens (two of my favorite colors). Ray noticed it first and said it looked like something for African royalty. I was sold!
Next on the list is actually painting the room, setting up his furniture, and gathering donations for the Transition Home and the Orphanage. We'd like to bring donations of diapers, formula, and clothes and toys for older kids. If you have any gently used toys or clothes you'd like to donate, please let us know!
We've been waiting for 5 weeks since our referral. If all goes well we'll have our court date sometime in October and travel sometime in November. Please keep praying with us that we'll not have any court delays!!
